About the Diagnostic Assessment Service

Diagnostic assessments can be arranged for students who think they may have a specific learning difference (such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia), or for a Colour Vision test. The assessments are carried out by external diagnosticians and they can take up to two hours, including regular rest breaks. If you are having a diagnostic assessment for a specific learning difference you will be able to have the assessment on campus at Student Advice. If you are having a Colour Vision test, your assessment will take place off campus.

The assessment is mostly funded by BGU’s Learning Fund, however we ask you to make a contribution. The diagnostician will provide you with a diagnostic report which may include recommendations for reasonable adjustments which can be circulated to relevant staff members (with your permission).

The University will not automatically receive a copy of your diagnostic report, so you must provide Student Advice with a copy of your report if you would like additional support to be put in place. The report can also be used as evidence for Disabled Students Allowance (DSA).
